On the morning of June 4, Yantai Biomedical Group, together with 15 resident enterprises and 2 partner units from Blue Pharma Valley · Life Island Park — gathering more than 70 participants — held the launch ceremony for the 2026 "Work Safety Month" activities. Themed "Everyone Talks About Safety, Everyone Can Respond to Emergencies — Identifying and Eliminating Risks and Hazards," the event aimed to comprehensively enhance the safety management standards of all park personnel through a series of awareness campaigns and safety training, safeguarding high-quality development.

The event officially kicked off at 9 a.m. Sha Junming, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman and General Manager of Yantai Biomedical Group, emphasized in his speech that work safety is a mandatory requirement of national laws and regulations, as well as a critical measure for enterprises to fulfill their primary responsibilities. He noted that this year’s "Work Safety Month" theme is a vital manifestation of implementing the national three-year campaign to address the root causes of workplace safety, and a key action to build a park safety community. He pointed out that the Biomedical Group has already achieved co-location with resident enterprises, working in the same direction and jointly safeguarding safety. However, he warned that risks still exist due to the dense concentration of R&D laboratories, high frequency of hazardous chemical use, and a wide variety of equipment in Life Island Park. He also stressed the need to strengthen fire prevention and emergency evacuation control measures at Huizhi Grand Hotel. Sha called on all staff to approach every aspect of work safety with a "sense of responsibility that never rests," an "execution capability that ensures every detail is handled," and a "vigilance that prevents hazards before they occur," meticulously implementing all safety measures and firmly holding the bottom line of "zero accidents and zero casualties."

Education and Training to Enhance Safety Knowledge for All

The event specially invited municipal emergency management experts, who, based on the group’s actual business operations, provided systematic safety knowledge training to participants in two areas: fire safety management for high-rise hotels and laboratory safety for pharmaceutical enterprises. The hotel fire safety training offered an in-depth analysis of risks and safety control measures for crowded venues, covering four aspects: analysis of fire characteristics in high-rise hotels, safety inspections of fire protection facilities, fire and smoke prevention and emergency evacuation requirements, and safety management of kitchen fire operations and electrical facilities. The pharmaceutical laboratory safety training detailed potential risks and preventive measures in laboratory settings, covering three aspects: inherent risks of chemicals and their prevention, operational risks of equipment and facilities and their prevention, and learning from warning education case studies.

The experts’ lectures provided precise guidance and assistance to employees from a professional perspective, enhancing their awareness of hazard prevention and on-site response capabilities, and further elevating the overall work safety management level.

After the theoretical training, participants engaged in in-depth safety discussions with the experts. In response to the on-site safety issues raised by enterprises, the experts provided thorough analysis from three perspectives: legal and regulatory provisions, industry management, and environmental factors. A representative from a resident enterprise remarked, "The expert’s lecture has been immensely helpful. We hope more training sessions like this can be held to improve our safety knowledge and help us solve our safety management challenges."

As the "Work Safety Month" activities fully unfold, the Biomedical Group will carry out a series of activities around the month’s theme, including safety culture promotion, hazard identification and rectification, and specialized emergency drills.
